Am I to love those who depart from the faith? Am I to love those who gave themselves over to doctrines of demons. Am I to love universalists and those in the new age crowd? Seriously, do I?

Didn't God give His beloved Son because He so loved everyone?

What do you mean by love Matthew?

After I wrote my comment the other day I had some more thoughts, but then they escaped me, and now I have what I think is some similar thoughts to what I was gonna say... LOL.

God's agape love is unconditional. It doesn't love, looking for something in return, or for a proper response from people. It loves because it is love. While the whole world was lost in sin and in billions and billions of skewed thoughts and doctrines about God and life and love and so many other things, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son - without regard for whether or not everyone would appreciate what He had done and would respond to it, and also knowing that many would not understand what He had done and would misconstrue it.

When we love others unconditionally with the love of Christ, we don't do it with anxiety about whether or not we'll be misunderstood or whether people will respond to it positively. We love because God is love.

We're free to "love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return... For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful."

Luke 6:35-36
