When you read Jesus' words in the Gospels, do you ever feel like a revelation and understanding of his words are on the tip of your mind, but you still don't get it? I need more patience and persistence in seeking. I wanna know what it means! I KNOW it's good news and it will completely change the way I view God, but I don't understand!

I can totally relate, and after a long time in life of being frustrated with not understanding various things, I learned (at least for me) that revelations come at times when I'm not really looking for them, and so I've essentially given up on... well, on being frustrated when I can't quite get it. ;)

I can relate, too. It's sort of a process and He'll use the simplest things to help you understand sometimes. I recently did a blog post myself about a revelation of sorts I had about being 'the salt of the earth'.

It basically boils down to the fact that salt inhibits or stops the growth of yeast (leaven), and that fact about salt that I learned while watching a cooking show -- made a lot more sense to me than what some preachers say about our role as being 'salt'. (i.e. that it's a flavor enhancer... it just didn't click with me.)

Anything in particular that prompted that statement, now that I've done all the other typing? -cmw
