One Tardy and One Absence

Alright, so the reason I didn't get on Yahoo with everyone last night is because my internet went out the day before and we just now got someone out here to fix it for me. I could have fixed it myself had I known that the problem was the cable splitter! Dang it! But God is good and He works everything out for good for those who love Him.

Apparently it's good not to use cable splitters. You use them to split one cable wire to go in two directions. In my case I was using the splitter to have my cable TV and internet working at the same time. I can easily work around that as I rarely watch TV.

Well..I really wish I could have been there last night. I was bummed about that.

Anyway...Heres to next time, brothers and sisters! Hope you guys had a great time discussing all those super spiritual things like puke and baseball. ;)

LOL! You and Joel have something in common, you guys say the right things to crack me up! Puke and Baseball! Oh my gosh, you are funny!

Anyway, I understand, those things happen so no worries. Remember you are free indeed to show up or not regardless!

We will plan on getting together again! No worries there!!!!

Oh I was going to ask you, has Joel really got you listening to
80's music? He tried to convert me, but I stood my ground! LOL

In Freedom, Nic!

I was actually into 80's music before I met Joel. It's just one of them things...It reminds me of when I was a kid watching cartoon movies like "Winds of Change" with disco rock and Thundercats and Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. I just love those cool sounds they make with the drums and keyboards lol.

Nic,

"You may not like it now but you will."

Matthew,

I just figured you didn't like us anymore. Haha! Glad to know we're still good with you.

Speaking of 80's music, I noticed the TS song on your myspace profile. They ruined their own song! I don't know why they felt they had to redo it. Maybe they just weren't going to take it anymore. Dunno!

I agree with the Twisted Sister song, Joel! I was thinking..."!?..What is this?" but it was the only one they had and I like the message of it. ;)

Joel Brueseke said...

Actually I listened to it a few times and it sort of grew on me. I guess I've just heard the original too many millions of times, and it never got old, so I wondered why they redid it. But you're right... it's a great song with a great message all the way around. Hmmm, a great song with a great message... maybe they should play it on Christian radio! Yeah, like that would fly! ;)

Wow Matt, I am shocked! You liked 80's before Joel got to you?!?! LOL

Joel, Twisted Sister, the band, sounds really twisted. You 'should' really pray about what you listen to, it can change your heart for the worse, and people are starting to talk...

Nah, just kidding....

In Freedom, Nicole!

Oops! I didn't realize that Twisted Sister was a song, not a band! Can you tell how well I pay attention?! :)

I realize that we could really mess with you on this one, Nic. :) But I'll come clean and say that you were correct in your original thinking! Twisted Sister is indeed a band, and they had a song in the 80's that was kind of a cult classic (whatever that means), called "We're Not Gonna Take It." That's the song we're talking about here. Now, I've already corrupted Aida with this song... LOL... and Matthew... hehehe... and I'm out to corrupt the whole family of grace friends! Hoo hoo ha ha haaa....

Seriously though... if I can do that... I had come across the video last year on youtube, after having not seen it for years, and the whole theme to the video and song reminded me of the legalistic church. I posted the video on my blog, way back before I knew most of you, and I've had several posts related to it since that time. You can see my original post here.

If you follow the "Links to this post" at the bottom of that post, you will see that I was very successful in my efforts to corrupt Aida, because she herself posted the video!

All that to say... you're next!! :D LOL

Joel is great at corrupting people so be careful. It must be a spiritual gift. I watched those Twisted Sister videos again this week including the one with innocent(?) Mario and Luigi. Ever so often the song goes through my head. Kind of like brainwashing.

I just listened to the version on Matthew's MySpace. How exciting! Now I have a variety to choose from depending on my mood.

Maybe we should make it the theme song for our blogging community. LOL

Mattityahu said...

LOL Good idea, Aida. I dub it our official them song!

"This is our life, this our song!"

Weeee!

Aida said...

Okay! All together now.

"We're not gonna take it. No! We ain't gonna take it. We're not gonna take it any more."

Wow! I feel better already!

I went ahead and ordered the make-up! We're gonna wear the make-up... right?

Mattityahu said...

We don't wanna scare the children, Joel. But we could ask Gary (for his previous experience of dressing like a woman) for tips on what shade of eyeshadow would be good for my skin complexion...I think I'm a midsummers eve. What do you think, Joel?

Aida said...

I don't think I'm going to tackle that one. It's your blog, Matt. I think I'll let you handle it. LOL

Aida said...

I think I missed something. What's this about Gary dressing like a woman?

I wear iced plum. Will I have to change?

Aida said...

You're right, Matt. Gary is certainly the one to ask. He definitely has an eye for colors.

Matt, for some reason, I got three emails telling me you had posted a comment about the lovely Rowina. They all seem to be slightly different. However, none of them are showing up in the comment section of your blog post.

Is everyone seeing it or is it just me?

Mattityahu said...

The link kept messing up when I posted it and I got tired of it! lol

Aida said...

Okay. That explains it. In case anyone reading these comments didn't get it and wants to see the lovely Rowina, here's the link.

http://bgkirkham.blogspot.com/2007/11/lovely-rowina.html

She's(?) well worth seeing.

Thanks for sending that. I had seen it some time ago when I was travelling through his archives but forgot about it.

I received more than three emails telling me that Matthew had posted something about the lovely Rowina. When it came to the comment that said, "I think I'm in love," I had to quit reading them.

Just kidding! Haha!

By the way, don't y'all think that scaring the children is the way to reform them?

Gary Kirkham said...

I can tell you, it is a lot of hard hard work to look that good, yet make look so effortless and natural. I have a new found respect for supermodels! I didn't realize they had such a hard job. Since that fateful fall day I have been inundated with offers to do swimsuit calendars and an exposé on my beauty secrets.

I am afraid that is how I am going to have to leave them, a secret.

Mattityahu said...

If fear were the way to reform them, then Freddy Kruger could be a great way of instilling Christian principles in children. 1 2, Freddy's comin' for you...3 4, lock your door, 5 6, get your crucifix...7 8, stay up late...9 10, never sleep again...

If we're gonna use fear to reform them we might as well make it fun!

Joel Brueseke said...

Yep, Freddy would be good. And another way would be a chainsaw. :)

Aida said...

You guys are really way off topic. I'm still trying to figure out the make-up.

Joel, are you sure you ordered the right colors? Maybe the lovely Miss Rowina would consent to give us a tip to two since she/he(?) has obviously chosen colors that are most flattering for her/his(?) face and figure.

Now, I've got the curly hair already but you guys are going to have to work a while on that one.

Aida said...

I obviously meant a tip or two. See how excited these plans have made me. I can't think straight.
