Real Answers

Well, Joel...You and I overcame similar fears. I called into People to People today and got some advice from Bob. I probably sound like a mouse or something ha. But you guys can listen to the show at http://realanswers.net/radio/index.html

It should be up sometime this evening for Thursday 12/20.

What I asked is sort of what I'm going through again at the moment.

I wouldn't miss it. I usually listen to Bob's podcast in the morning on the way to work. Was it as bad as you thought it would be?

It wasn't bad at all. I try to drown out my thoughts and just focus on the person I'm talking to. I kept telling myself "this is just a human like me". I just don't care to hear my own voice hahahaha. So I'm scared to listen to it myself.

It's this freakin' cloud of anxiety and doubt thats got me in a bind eve that God raised me from the dead spright now. First I doubt my faith in Jesus. Then I try to work up faith of what Jesus did and understand the Spiritual aspect of it and I can't. I just want to have faith! It will pass eventually, but it's very annoying.

Whenever I try to believe I was raised from spiritual death when God raised Christ from the dead, I shut down. It's like I can't have faith..I worry that I accept it theologically but can't put real faith in it.

I try and force it, but to no avail. I think too much!

I have no idea what happened to that last post, but apparently there are huge typos in it. ;)

Did Bob's answer help you?

They did. It's just when I get by myself or something that the stuff comes back up again.

Matthew... that's great! I'll give it a listen! I'm glad Bob was able to help you. I think we need to be reminded and re-reminded and re-re-reminded of the truth all our lives long in order for our hearts and minds to get rooted in it and to remain rooted in it. Believe me, you're not the only one who deals with doubt and with not being able to retain the truth that you heard even five minutes ago. Don't worry... in time you will be more deeply rooted and grounded in what you've been learning during the past several months. :)

I was able to listen yesterday. It was so cool to hear your voice! And I really like what Bob said. It was very encouraging for me. Essentially, it's not about how big or small my faith is, but rather it's about my Big God. It's not about focusing on what I've done or not done, but rather focusing on my Big God. Great stuff!

Hey Joel,

Thats cool you got to listen. I was encouraged again by what Bob said when I listened to him a second time. The first time I was a little nervous to really catch everything. Anyway, it is very encouraging to know that it isn't about the size of my faith, but the size of my God. The Lord knows I'm stumbly, bumbly, slow and inconsistent with everything.
