What's So Amazing About Grace?

Is what I'm currently reading. I picked it up today at Wal-Mart after we went to the theatre to see Mamma Mia. It was great if you like movies like that, but I like more epic, adventurous guy movies. But I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance, comedy and musicals. My mom absolutely loved it and said she wanted to watch it again (which is very rare for her).

Anyway, I wanted to post a quote I just read from the book. It's actually Philip quoting someone else, but I thought there was a lot of truth in it.

"The world can do almost anything as well as or better than the Church," says Gordon MacDonald. "You need not be a Christian to build houses, feed the hungry, or heal the sick. There is only one thing the world cannot do. It cannot offer grace."

A truer quote has not been made. Often it is those who are NOT Christians who are making the most difference in the world. Which is ironic because one of the commandments to take care of the widows and the orphans within the church and without.

Makes us think about what we're doing for the needy...

However, Grace IS definitely something WE can give that the WORLD cannot.
